How to Reset BMW Check Engine Light via Foxwell NT680 Pro?
I’m going to show how to use Foxwell NT680 Pro Scanner to reset the check engine light for a BMW 3 series. As you can see, there is a warning light on the dashboard.
Connect NT680 Pro with BMW OBD, press
Diagnostic >> Europe >> BMW >> Manual Selection >> 3 Series >> F30/F31/F35
Turn off the ignition.
Wait for approx 10s...
Turn on the ignition again.
Diagnosis >> Control modules >> Drive >> Engine - DDE diesel electronics >> Read codes
It got 2 fault codes:
25F500 - Intake air temperature sensor, signal: open or short circuit to B+
28D600 - Hot film air mass meter, signal interruption or short circuit to ground or positive terminal.
After working out there was a problem with the mass airflow sensor on BMW which I’ve now replaced actually. But the BMW still got a check engine light and the fault codes.
It is normal, what I need to do is go to “Clear Codes”.
Codes cleared!
Look, check engine light disappeared meanwhile.
Done!
It is really a quick way of using the Foxwell NT680 Pro Diagnostic Tool to do a BMW check engine light reset. It also supports 21 frequent maintenance services such as EPB, SAS, TPS/TBA, CVT, TPMS, DPF, Gear learning, BRT, etc.
